PU Adhesive is used to help maintain the stability of the ballast bed as well as maintaining the internal lattice structure particularly in transition areas from flexible ballast formation to firm formation such as concrete or steel structures. The cohesion also helps to improve the horizontal and vertical load distribution increasing the service life of the ballast bed without compromising its natural drainage abilities. It is important therefore that the ballast bonding is carried out by experienced staff to make this as effective as possible.
